He has been a Director of John Hancock Financial Services Inc. since 2000 and Suncor Energy Inc. since November 12, 2009. He has been a Director of Cgi Group, Inc. since 2010. Mr. Dominic Alessandro serves as a Director of Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association Inc. He served as an Independent Director of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce from 2010 to April 24, 2014. He served as a Director of Manulife Financial Corporation from 1994 to May 7, 2009 and The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company, Inc. from 1994 to 2009. He served as a Director of Hudson’s Bay Company since 1996. He was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in August 2003. He was appointed as a Commentator of the Order of the Star of Italy. In 2009, he received the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship. He serves as a Vice Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives.
